5th-8th Grade Art, 8th Grade Science, Instructional Consulting, and Middle School Student Support

Julie Freeman

A welcome from Mr. Pfeifer: “Julie brings many years of experience as both a teacher and administrator in the Diocese of Columbus. Through God’s providence, she has found her way to St. Mary, and she will be an integral part of our faculty. Her experience, wisdom, and love for Catholic education will be an incredible gift to our students and staff. Her passion for art and the flourishing of the human person will be evident the moment you meet her. She is a breath of fresh air and I know our students will be encountering God in both Art and Science this year.”

Hello! My name is Julie Freeman and I am excited to be joining the St. Mary’s team! I have been in the Diocese of Columbus for 29 years. For the past 13 years I served as the Principal at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Grove City. It was a complete blessing to serve the Grove City community! Our Lord has called my husband and I for a new adventure…we are moving to be closer to our daughter and son-in-law and new granddaughter who are on staff with Damascus.

I hold a Masters in Education Administration and a Bachelor of Arts with teaching licenses in Biological Sciences and Visual Art. I have taught all grade levels, K-12. Over the years I have taught with Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Agatha, St. Mary Magdalene and Bishop Ready. I am thrilled to be returning to the classroom to teach 5-8th grade Art and 8th grade Physical Science.

My husband and I have 4 grown children, Max who is a Mechanical Engineer, Eva is a Missionary with St. Paul Outreach, Makenna is on staff with Damascus along with her husband Murphy, and Amelia is a recent Walsh University grad working in Finance and Data Analytics.

I am passionate about Catholic Education. We are here to help get your child and family to heaven! I see the Arts and Sciences as an opportunity to share the wondrous beauty our God has given us! Lessons will focus on real world opportunities and exploration, surrounded by our Catholicity and our desire to pursue truth.
I am looking forward to being part of the St. Mary community and meeting the students and families!

In Christ-Mrs. Julie Freeman
