Children enjoy pronouncing big words and sounding out words, even if they don’t comprehend their meaning.
Speaking to your child using an enriched vocabulary aids them in learning more words to articulate their thoughts and ideas. If they don’t understand a word or appear puzzled, inquire if they know its meaning and whether they’d like a definition. This tactic also bolsters their reading comprehension and confidence when they begin reading.
