A welcome from Mr. Pfeifer: “While Clare is not new to St. Mary, she is stepping into a new role as our first-grade teacher. I am thrilled that she will be able to provide a thoughtful bridge from the Montessori environment of Children’s House into the more communal Catholic Liberal Arts classroom. Her move also allows us to continue strengthening and enriching our Children’s House program.”
My name is Clare Galuzny, and I am so excited to be teaching first grade this upcoming school year! Saint Mary is my grade school alma mater, and it has been a dream of mine to teach here since I was 5. In Kindergarten when they ask you what you want to be when you grow up, I said I wanted to be a teacher, and I wanted to teach at Saint Mary. Through all my years of grade school and four years of high school, that was always the dream. Not many people get to say their kindergarten dreams come true, but I am blessed enough that I DO get to say that. For the last 5 years I have loved working on the parish staff, as well as going to THE Ohio State University to get my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, and I am ready to use all the things I have learned both from OSU and from my experience teaching Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, in my own classroom. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to be in a place I love so dearly, and I pray my students will always grow in wisdom and virtue.
