6th Grade Humanities

Shane Walter

A welcome from Mr. Pfeifer:
Shane is also returning to St. Mary, and we are excited to welcome him back as an anchor in our middle school. Before I arrived, I heard countless stories from families about his passion for forming young hearts and minds, and I was always disappointed that I never had the opportunity to work alongside him. We are grateful that God has brought him back to our community, and I know he will be a tremendous blessing to our students.

I am thrilled to be coming back to St. Mary’s. For the past three years I have been teaching fourth grade at St. Peter’s School in Upper Sandusky. Before that I taught in various capacities here at St. Mary’s teaching 5th grade, 6th – 8th grade social studies, and 6th grade math. This will be my fourteenth year teaching.

In 2010, I earned my bachelor degree in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University and in 2018, I earned my Masters degree in Education Leadership from Ohio Dominican University.

My wife, daughter and I live in Cardington and attend Sacred Hearts Church for Mass on Sunday mornings. I enjoy continuing to learn about the Catholic faith by reading religious books and attending my men’s morning group. My summer has been spent enjoying time with my daughter, going to the zoo, and seeing her learn new things about the world around her.
