Physical Education

Steve Gorman

My family and I have lived in Delaware since 2006 and I am entering my third year at St. Mary’s, where I teach Physical Education.

I have my educational degree from Capital University and hold advanced degrees in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance from BGSU. I have been blessed to have had several professional opportunities prior to joining St. Mary School, including the United States Olympic Human Performance program (Track and Field, and Platform Diving), the Ohio Institute for Sports Medicine and both programmatic, as well as, administrative positions with the YMCA.

I have coached at both the high school as well as at the collegiate level and currently coach my children in various youth sports in our community.

The thing I enjoy most about teaching at St. Mary is building meaningful relationships with our students. They continually challenge me to be a better teacher and to deepen my faith with Jesus Christ.

Spending time with my wife Alicia and our 2 children, Piper and Mason, consumes most of my free time. We’re very active in church, sports, scouts and camping. When time allows, you will find me in my woodshop making sawdust of some type, or taking our basset hound Archie for a walk around the neighborhood!
